End of Life!

January 20th 2017

After some long long internal discussion, we decided that it's time to pull the plug on Biteasy.

It's been 3 years since we released Biteasy and kept it FREE for all this time by maintaining it with private funds, serving thousands of API requests and site visitors per month, and becoming a valuable asset to the bitcoin community. Unfortunately, however, the current form of the service is no longer really required and since it never evolved to something more, it is only natural for us to move forward with other endeavors.

On January 20th 2017, the service will officially shutdown without any further delay. It's plenty of time in order for all our API users to move to a different provider and since there are plenty out there nowadays, it shouldn't be a big problem choosing one of them.

It's been a fun ride for us and we are proud that we had the chance to create something useful and share it with the world.

We hope all the best for the future of bitcoin and thanks to all the bitcoin community which supported us and provided feedback all this time!

Sincerely,

The Biteasy.com team

Litecoin support

We are happy to announce that as of yesterday full Litecoin support has been added for both mainnet and testnet.

Our REST API and Websockets API are also 100% operational for Litecoin data consumption so feel free to have a look at the documentation in order to start using them.

We are in the process of re-writing our frontend as well and as soon as that completes we will announce an end-of-life date for our v1 API.

Data migration in progress

As you have probably already noticed, the site and the API are out-of-sync the last couple of days. The reason is that we are in the process of migrating our data to the v2.0 structure but to also be able to support v1.0 for a few more months as well before it becomes obsolete.

Due to the huge amount of data, this process takes some time but we are doing our best to complete it as soon as possible. Litecoin support will be added to the site as well after the process is done and great stability will be restored.

If you are an API user, we urge you to start looking at the v2.0 documentation and switch to that as soon as possible.

The website is still using v1.0 structure but we will be changing that very soon. When that switch has completed, we will announce an END-OF-LIFE date for v1.0.

Thank you for your patience.
